Licensed Professional Counselor and board-approved Supervisor
Other counselors may tell you how they treat countless types of problems and disorders. Phil does not specialize in everything. Rather, his expertise rests in family relationships, and helping adolescents and adults with anxiety and trauma disorders, and co-occurring disorders .
Have you tried years of conventional counseling yet continue to seek relief from emotional pain, trauma, and stress? as quickly and as comfortably as possible, consult an expert. Phil utilizes only evidence-based techniques that are dynamic, eloquent, and effective leaving you in charge of your healing process.
The overwhelming majority of therapists and counselors are only trained to resolve distressing or traumatic episodes utilizing traditional talk-therapy developed between the 1950's and 1970's. However, it is well known that traumatic memories are encoded in the very primitive emotional midbrain -- an area that does not work well with verbal language. This means that talk therapy, by itself, is not effective. Within the past 25 years, the technology in mental health counseling and psychotherapy has advanced light years and these models are only now beginning to be introduced in Graduate schools. Phil continually seeks training in the most current evidence-based practices and techniques available to provide you with a safe, dynamic, and powerful healing experience that is soothing, effective, and non-confrontational.
Now you can benefit from expert and compassionate help from a specialized licensed practitioner of the healing arts. Phil has the depth of experience and expertise to help you find relief and peace of mind from the emotional pain and suffering that life can challenge us with.
Learn how to mobilize your inner resources and begin a powerful and highly beneficial healing process that is individualized to your personal needs in a safe and comfortable environment.
What is the difference between counseling and therapy?
The terms "counseling" and "therapy" are oftentimes used interchangeably. Counseling, in my experience, refers to a short-term and structured process that utilizes strength-based and solution-focused techniques to help one achieve balance in life, manage overwhelming issues, make important decisions, or clarify interpersonal or social values. Therapy, on the other hand, is usually longer term and more in depth when addressing more chronic or traumatic issues that lie deep within one's consciousness.
